Hokkaido Artistic Fireworks

Held at Moerenuma Park in Sapporo, this fireworks event brings together some of Japan’s finest fireworks masters. Centered on artistic fireworks shells crafted by top-level pyrotechnicians from across the country, the show features fireworks precisely synchronized to the rhythm and melody of music down to 1/30 of a second, lighting up the night sky nonstop for Approx. 50 minutes.

Another major draw is the dynamic, three-dimensional staging that skillfully makes use of the terrain and scenery of Moerenuma Park, which world-renowned sculptor Isamu Noguchi designed as “the entire park as a single sculptural work,” taking advantage of its width, depth, and changes in elevation.

Distinct from conventional fireworks festivals, it has earned high praise as a comprehensive art experience that unites music, fireworks, and landscape, and continues to captivate audiences as one of Hokkaido’s signature fireworks events.
