    Lake Kawaguchi is quite large, so I’d recommend starting with a stroll around the Funatsu-hama Onsen area. There are lots of great places to eat and shop there, and it’s a perfect spot to pick up souvenirs.

    If you want to take that classic photo of Mt. Fuji with the lake, head to Ubuyagasaki. It’s not too crowded, so you can take your time composing shots and enjoying the view.

    When the weather is bad, Mt. Fuji is often completely covered by clouds, so you can barely see it—just a faint outline remains. It’s a bit of a shame, but that hazy view has its own atmosphere too.

    Lake Kawaguchi is probably one of the most reliable and classic spots for viewing Mt. Fuji. That said, the actual experience depends a lot on the weather, so it’s good to be prepared—whether you get that perfect Mt. Fuji view really comes down to luck to some extent.
