I think Karuizawa Prince is more of a “resort-style ski area,” rather than a place you visit just to tackle the slopes. You can ski in the morning, shop and eat at the outlet in the afternoon, and stay at the Prince Hotel at night. The whole trip is easy to plan and great for families or groups of friends.

If you're bringing younger children, I think Karuizawa Prince is a good fit. You don't have to plan on skiing all day. Adults can enjoy the slopes, while kids can play in the snow in the family area, so everyone can have fun in their own way.

I highly recommend that first-time skiers not try to figure everything out on their own. It's much more practical to spend some time taking a lesson. In Karuizawa, I started by learning the basics, like putting on and taking off my skis, how to stand, and how to stop. After practicing a few times with the instructor, I felt comfortable skiing slowly on my own that afternoon. I improved much faster than I expected.

It was my first time riding a ski lift, so I was honestly a little nervous.

The ski resort is easy to get to, and the facilities are well maintained. Kids can have a blast playing in the snow, while adults can relax and enjoy being with them. By the end of the day, the whole family felt totally satisfied.

This was our first time taking the kids to experience life in a snowy place, and choosing a cottage at the Karuizawa Prince Hotel was absolutely the right call.

The cottages were surrounded by snow, and the kids were so excited when they woke up in the morning and saw the snowy view outside the window. They could have snowball fights and build snowmen to their hearts’ content. We didn’t have to rush anywhere and could just relax and enjoy family time together. These winter-only memories are truly precious.

Skiing down the slopes while looking at the lush green mountains all around completely changed my impression of ski resorts. The artificial snow is well maintained, and it feels really comfortable to ski on.

We chose Karuizawa Prince Hotel Ski Resort for our kids’ first time skiing, and it was a great fit! There are plenty of beginner runs, and the slopes are gentle, so even falling didn’t feel too stressful. With a little practice, they were able to start enjoying skiing.

The snow quality was fantastic.
