Such~~~a beautiful aquarium. It was really worth taking a ride of over four hours from Fukuoka early in the morning to get here!
I also happened to capture a photo of a dolphin leaping〜
That swirling school of fish kept me there for a full half hour. It was extremely beautiful and spectacular. Actually, I was waiting the whole time to see the ray eat a fish (hahaha, I’m so bad
It made me really want to go diving. I also went pearl harvesting
and got two pearls at once⋯ I had them made into a necklace but ended up never wearing it (one gold and one white). It actually wasn’t very cheap.
I think it’s very well laid out, with lots of different sections you can take your time enjoying. I also saw the hardworking staff scrubbing the floor.
I think my i13 did its best.
I really love aquariums!

When exploring lesser-known small towns, if you're spending a night in Sasebo, besides taking a sightseeing cruise to enjoy the island scenery, the nearby Kujukushima Aquarium Umi Kirara is definitely a highlight you shouldn't miss.
Because of the area's unique geography, pearl farming is very famous here. The aquarium offers a special hands-on pearl extraction experience where you can remove your own pearl from a shell. It's both fun and makes a meaningful souvenir. Also, don't miss the exciting dolphin show—the clever dolphins always leave the entire audience amazed.
After visiting the aquarium, I recommend heading back near Sasebo Station to try the local specialty, a Sasebo burger. Born from the culture surrounding the U.S. military base, this delicious burger features a freshly grilled patty and plenty of toppings. Its hearty, satisfying flavor is the perfect ending to a relaxing trip to Sasebo.
