I walked along the 350-meter-long Flower Road promenade. It's famous for its lavender in early summer, but with such a wide variety of flowers planted, it's enjoyable in any season.
I recommend the second floor of the Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center, where you can get a panoramic view of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi.
The kochia at Oishi Park are round, lush, and adorable, and in the fall they turn a vivid red, making the scenery really eye-catching. Together with the views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, it creates the perfect photo backdrop. It's a popular check-in spot in Yamanashi Prefecture.
Oishi Park is pretty much one of the places everyone visits when they come to Lake Kawaguchi. I went in winter, so I didn’t get to see the famous flower fields with Mount Fuji in the same view. There were also a lot of tour groups there, which made the whole park feel a bit crowded and mixed.
But if you walk a little farther to the playground area, it gets much quieter. Sitting there, eating some bread, and looking at Mount Fuji in front of me still felt worthwhile.
If you come during flower season, this place is definitely worth a visit. But if you come at the wrong time, you might want to think twice.
April at Oishi Park feels like that in-between moment when spring is just arriving. The main highlights are usually tulips and canola flowers, with the last of the cherry blossoms adding a nice touch.
With Mount Fuji in the background, the scenery has so much depth. It may not be as striking as the lavender in summer, but it feels fresh and really pleasant.
Beautiful scenery with an amazing view of Mount Fuji. The flowers are colorful and gorgeous in every season. It's a great spot for photos, a stroll, or just unwinding. I didn't want to leave!
