Kiyosumi Gardens

Kiyosumi Gardens is a strolling-style landscape garden centered on a pond, artificial hills, and dry landscape features. In 1878, businessman Yataro Iwasaki purchased the site of a dilapidated former estate and began planning a garden. It was largely completed in 1880 as Fukagawa Shinbokuen. Construction continued after Iwasaki’s death, resulting in a strolling-style landscape garden featuring a large pond fed by water from the Sumida River and renowned stones brought from throughout Japan.

Meiji Jingu

Meiji Jingu was established in 1920 as a Shinto shrine dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. It consists of the serene and solemn Inner Garden, home to the Main Shrine and Imperial Garden; the Outer Garden, which features the Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery and numerous outstanding sports facilities; and Meiji Kinenkan, a full-service wedding venue.

Rikugien Garden

Rikugien Garden is a strolling, hill-and-pond garden with an undulating landscape, created over seven years beginning in 1695. Designated a Special Place of Scenic Beauty by the Japanese government, it is considered one of the two great gardens of Edo alongside Koishikawa Korakuen Garden.
