Kyogamisaki Cape and Kyogamisaki Lighthouse
Located on the Tango Peninsula, Kyogamisaki Cape is the northernmost point of Kyoto Prefecture and the entire Kinki region. Its sheer cliffs feature well-developed columnar joints formed by andesite, and the cape has also been selected as one of the sites within the San'in Kaigan UNESCO Global Geopark. Standing at an elevation of 148 m, Kyogamisaki Lighthouse was first lit in 1898. It is one of only five first-order lighthouses in Japan to use a first-order Fresnel lens, and it has been designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
So worth it! I definitely want to come back next time 🥰
