Hikari no Machi Hakata
Hikari no Machi Hakata is an annual holiday event hosted by JR Hakata City, the commercial complex directly connected to JR Hakata Station. A dazzling 640,000 lights illuminate the station plaza, turning the heart of the city into a magical winter scene.
It feels extra festive during the Christmas season.
The lights change colors so it doesn’t look boring at all.
You can really tell the whole thing was carefully designed. -
Omoide Yokocho
Walk just 2 minutes from the West Exit of Shinjuku Station to find yourself at a retro pub alley. With ticket shops and around 80 different establishments offering delicious food and drinks, it's a great place to enjoy the local cuisine and atmosphere.
While I was eating, people at the next table were smoking and chatting, so the air quality was really bad.

Meiji Jingu Gaien (Outer Garden)
Meiji Jingu Gaien, the outer park of Meiji Shrine, was established in 1926. It features the Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery and various sports facilities, such as the Meiji Jingu Stadium, where you can enjoy nature throughout the four seasons.
This is a super popular spot for viewing ginkgo trees. The whole area becomes a pedestrian zone, so visitors can enjoy the scenery safely.
