Nobeyama station sits at 1345.67m above sea level.

From the front of the station you can see the peak of the Yatsugatake Mountains which are called Mount Aka. The station is located on the high land, the air smells so fresh! Many rail road enthusiasts and tourists come all the way here and pay ¥140 to buy the ticket as a souvenir. (“The closest station to the sky” is printed on the ticket.)

From JR Shinjuku station get on the “Azusa 17 bound for Matsumoto” and get off at “Kobuchizawa station”
At the “Kobuchizawa station”, get on the train bound for Komoro on the Koumi line then get off at the Nobeyama station. (about 3 hours in total)
