Hokkaido's Picturesque Summer Spot

"Farm Tomita," located in Hokkaido, is Japan's most famous lavender bed.
The farm, approximately 15 hectares in size, has nine flower gardens and one greenhouse, and the entire site is able to be visited free of charge.
Beginning every year with lavender in July, around 40 types of flowers, such as poppies, begonias, and baby's breath, bloom in these gardens, creating a beautiful carpet-like view of the flowers.

Irodori no Hatake

In these gardens, around 7 varieties of flowers bloom, creating rainbow-like fields!
The sight is incredibly beautiful!

There are many shops and rest areas within the farm that sell foods like curry and original sweets, and their prices are reasonable as well!
The lavender-flavored soft-serve ice cream is incredibly popular, and only 300 yen!
There are also plenty of souvenirs available that were made at Farm Tomita, including lavender oils and soaps, perfumes, and dried flowers.
There are many different shops on the farm, and their hours may vary depending on the season, but many shops have set business hours from 8:30 to 17:00.
The farm is closed from mid-October through late April.

We also recommend the melon, a Furano specialty!

Farm Tomita’s “Lavender East” is also open only in July.
Lavender East is located 4 kilometers from Farm Tomita.
Lavender East is a 14-hectare area where nothing but lavender grows, approximately 90,000 stalks. It is Japan’s largest lavender field.
This is a definite must-see for people visiting in July!
