This street runs through the town of wood carving, Inami, which is registered as Japan Heritage. Many wood carving workshops stand along the stone path leading to the Shingon School Otani Sect’s temple, Inamibetsuin Zuisenji. Artistic wooden name plates and signs adorn the area, making a stroll quite intriguing.

Zuisenji was opened by Honganji Temple’s 5th Reverend Shakunyo in 1390 as a center of Jodo Shinshu faith in Hokuriku Region. Since then, the wood-carving town has grown around the temple. Yokamachi Street is the epitome of Inami, which is selected into Japan's Top 100 Soundscapes by the Ministry of Environment. The sound of wooden hammers from workshops are pleasant. The neighborhood is dotted with galleries and cafes displaying carvings done by craftsmen, as well as restaurants serving local delicacies and homemade udon noodles.

    走進富山縣的南礪市,走進這條的老街,聽到陣陣的木槌聲響,一上一下的~心也跟著靜了下來~這裡別有一番味道~
