Tachimachi Cape, jutting out to the southeast of Mount Hakodate and facing the Tsugaru Strait, features a dramatic landscape with a 30-meter-high sheer cliff, surrounded by the sea. This scenic spot offers stunning views, including the opposite Shimokita Peninsula on clear days, and a panoramic vista of Hakodate's cityscape.
In summer, the cape is known for its blooms of the Hokkaido representative flower, Rosa rugosa (Hamanasu), which adorns the area with lovely pink blossoms.
