Located in Hakodate Park, “Kodomo no Kuni (Children’s Land)” is a small amusement park with a long history that opened in 1956. It is recommended for families to enjoy the retro atmosphere and have a relaxing time with small children.

The Ferris wheel has been especially popular since the opening of “Kodomo no Kuni”. As the oldest existing Ferris wheel in Japan, it will be registered as a national tangible cultural property in 2019. With a height of 10 meters, a diameter of 8 meters, and 8 gondolas, it is popular for its great view and atmosphere.

The slowly turning "airplane", which has been in place since the park opened, is also well known for its pleasant view of the ocean at eye level. The park is open on sunny days from mid-March to late November, except during the snow season and on rainy days. Hakodate Park also has an animal facility with ponies, goats, and yakushika deer, as well as a fountain plaza, so families can spend a whole day relaxing together. There are no height restrictions on any of the rides, so children as young as 0 years old can ride with their parents or guardians. This is a great place to make your amusement park debut.
