Last update :

Located at the foot of the sacred mountain "Hakusan," one of Japan's three most famous peaks, it also serves as a base for climbing Hakusan from the Gifu Prefecture side, and as a rest stop for tourists visiting the World Heritage site "Shirakawa-go."

Adjacent to the station is the "Shiramizu no Yu," a beloved day-use hot spring facility known for its source spring flowing directly into the baths, which is also popular as a "child treasure bath." Within the premises, visitors can enjoy the famous hot springs for free with a footbath that's available 24 hours a day. The snack corner offers local Gifu cuisine such as "suttate soup," a dish made by crushing boiled soybeans and flavoring them with miso or soy sauce, and Hida beef croquettes, along with quick and easy-to-enjoy noodle dishes like "mountain vegetable soba," and sweets like "mitarashi dango."

During summer to autumn, fresh vegetables brought in by local residents are sold here as well. As for souvenirs, retort-packaged curry made with Shirakawa-go's branded pork "Yui Uma Buta" is popular. The station is also equipped with a rapid charger for electric vehicles (EVs).
