Ryu Resort & Spa
A highland resort surrounded by magnificent natural scenery, with a 100% free-flowing natural hot spring.
This resort hotel stands amid the abundant natural beauty of the Shokawa Plateau at an elevation of approximately 3,280 feet. It is about a 90-minute drive from Nagoya and close to Shirakawa-go, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The hotel’s abundant hot spring water comes from its own source 4,265 feet underground. Guests can soak in the moisturizing, skin-smoothing water in an open-air bath overlooking the changing scenery of the four seasons or in a spacious indoor bath filled to the brim. The baths feature 100% free-flowing water directly from the source, with no recirculation, dilution, or disinfection. Six types of guest rooms are available to suit different group sizes and needs, all featuring a stylish, modern atmosphere designed for complete relaxation. The top-floor Premium Room is limited to a single guest room and offers an especially luxurious setting, with bamboo flooring, designer lighting, and carefully selected furnishings.
Dinner is prepared with carefully selected ingredients chosen for their freshness and quality, including A5-grade Hida beef and seafood purchased directly from one of Japan’s leading markets. Resort facilities for experiencing the surrounding natural environment include an open terrace where guests can relax in the highland breeze beneath a star-filled sky, an outdoor pool open only in summer, and a stream on the property where visitors can play in the water.
