Kozan Park, selected as one of the "Top 100 Historical Parks in Japan," is a vast park dotted with various historical sites, including a national treasure five-story pagoda.

The main attraction, the national treasure "Rurikoji Five-Story Pagoda," is said to be the tenth oldest existing five-story pagoda in Japan. Its beautiful appearance, featuring a hinoki bark roof, is counted as one of the three famous pagodas in Japan and is highly regarded as one of the finest buildings from the middle of the Muromachi period. It is illuminated every day from sunset to 10 PM, offering a fantastical view different from the daytime. *Under renovation until March 2026

"Chinryutei," a reproduction of a building where prominent figures from the Satsuma domain like Saigo Takamori and Okubo Toshimichi, and from the Choshu domain like Kido Takayoshi gathered during the late Edo period, is also a must-see. Additionally, the park contains historical sites related to the Meiji Restoration, such as "Rozando," a tea house where the 13th lord of the Choshu domain, Mori Takachika, held confidential talks regardless of social standing. The park is also renowned as a spot for cherry blossoms, plum blossoms, azaleas, and hydrangeas, displaying the beauty of each season.
