Hinoyama Park

Yamaguchi’s premier scenic spot, now adding new athletic facilities and an observation deck.

Last update :

Located at the 268 m summit of Mt. Hinoyama, this park is one of Yamaguchi Prefecture’s top scenic spots, with sweeping views of the Seto Inland Sea, the Sea of Japan, and the Kanmon Strait below.

Seasonal flowers bloom throughout the park, and spring is especially full of highlights. In April, cherry blossoms such as Somei Yoshino and Yamazakura come into bloom, and in May, Approx. 25,000 azalea bushes add vibrant color across the grounds.

As of 2026, the park is undergoing redevelopment under the concept of “HINOYAMA HERITAGE PARK.” In November 2025, an athletic area opened with a slide that runs down a scenic hillside and swings that give you the feeling of soaring out over the sea. In fiscal 2026, an observation deck with spiraling rings crossing in midair and a campsite overlooking the Kanmon Strait up close are also scheduled to open. With even more ways to enjoy the views and new experiences, Hinoyama Park is a place to watch.
