The Tamagawa Sake Brewery, which continues the sake brewing tradition that dates back to 1673, has its roots in the Meguro family, descended from medieval warriors. At Echigo Yukikura-kan, you can tour the brewery and see the sake brewing process. Uonuma City in Niigata Prefecture, where Tamagawa Sake Brewery is located, is known as one of Japan's leading heavy snowfall areas. Here, Daiginjo sake is stored in a natural storage cellar made of snow, known as "Yukikura." The snow is covered with a special sheet, allowing it to be preserved until autumn, making it possible to tour the snow cellar throughout the year.

The tour also includes an introduction to the sake brewing process of Tamagawa Sake Brewery, with detailed explanations provided by a guide. In the tasting corner, you can sample about 10 varieties of sake, including the flagship brand Tamafumi, as well as DAIGINJO GENSHU ECHIGO YUKIKURA, Ittoki, and 46-degree Echigo Bushi.

Don't forget to check out the gift shop, where they sell "Yukikura Cosmetics," known for their whitening and moisturizing properties made from sake ingredients, as well as food products made from Daiginjo sake lees.
