Yaedake Sakuranomori Park

Located on the mid-slopes of Mount Yaedake, which has an elevation of 453 meters and forms a mountain range on the border between Motobu Town and Nago City, this park is known for its early-blooming cherry blossoms, thanks to the warm climate of the mountainous region of Yaedake. From January to early February, approximately 7,000 vivid Kanhi cherry trees blossom, boasting the "earliest blooming in Japan" and allowing visitors to enjoy cherry blossom viewing before anywhere else in the country.

Cherry blossoms also flourish along the road leading to the summit. The walking path extends for about 1 km, and the area can be toured in about 30 minutes. The contrast between the lush Yanbaru forest and the cherry blossoms offers a scene that captures the essence of Okinawa. An annual cherry blossom festival is held from mid-January for two weeks, with Yaedake Sakuranomori Park serving as the main venue.

The park is equipped with playground equipment, rest facilities, toilets, and a multipurpose plaza. Large composite play equipment and slides are also available, making it a popular playground among local children.
