With its main store in Daimyo and a total of 10 locations mainly across Fukuoka, Motsunabe Tashu is a specialty restaurant dedicated to motsunabe, a beloved Hakata hot pot dish. The owner trained under a long-established motsunabe master, and the menu features not only expertly prepared motsunabe but also a curated selection of famous Hakata and Kyushu regional specialties—making its popularity well deserved.

Their motsunabe is made with only the finest domestic Wagyu small intestines, carefully selected and prepared by skilled craftsmen. Among the four available flavors, the most popular is the rich and creamy miso, made from a blend of four types of miso. Other options include a light soy sauce, deeply flavorful Japanese-style broth, and a spicy house specialty called the Tashu Nabe. For the perfect finish, choose from zōsui (rice porridge), chanpon noodles, or Hakata ramen. If you go with the miso or Tashu Nabe, their cheese risotto is a must-try.
Beyond hot pots, the menu also includes an array of regional delights: sumotsu (vinegared offal), mentaiko (spicy cod roe), horse sashimi delivered directly from Kumamoto, sesame-cured mackerel made with herb-fed saba, and sweetly simmered beef cheek.
