Located next to Michi-no-Eki Ishigami no Oka in Iwate Town, Iwate Prefecture, this museum offers outdoor sculptures and nature to enjoy. In 2020, the outdoor area was redeveloped as the Forest of Flowers and Art, becoming a space where more than 100 kinds of flowers and outdoor sculptures are scattered across a hillside loop of Approx. 1.5 kilometers.

The paved walking path takes Approx. 1 hour to complete one loop. As you feel the refreshing breeze and natural light, you can spend a rich and relaxing time admiring artworks and seasonal flowers. The walking path spreads across the slope of Mt. Ishigami at an elevation of Approx. 326 meters, and because there are ups and downs, comfortable clothing and shoes are a must even though this is a museum. Lavender is at its best from late June to early July, and hydrangeas are in peak bloom from early July to early August, drawing many visitors.

Inside the museum, there is also a special exhibition gallery, which hosts a variety of exhibitions, including shows featuring artists active in Iwate as well as other special and collection exhibitions. The latest gallery schedule can be checked on the official website.
