Kisuke Aji no Gyutan Ekimae Chuo Main Store

Founded in 1975, Kisuke Aji no Gyutan Ekimae Chuo Main Store is known as one of the restaurants that helped spread Sendai’s famous grilled beef tongue across Japan. It is known for beef tongue carefully prepared and grilled by skilled chefs using traditional methods.

A longtime favorite on the menu is the Charcoal-Grilled Beef Tongue Set Meal. Carefully prepared slice by slice, the beef tongue is crisp and juicy. You can choose from three flavors: the signature salt seasoning, a secret sauce, or the restaurant’s proud miso flavor. The Special Thick-Cut Grilled Set Meal lets you enjoy the natural richness of beef tongue along with its bold texture. The restaurant also offers the limited Special Selected Beef Tongue Shabu-Shabu, available only at the Ekimae Chuo Main Store (advance reservation required). This dish features rare marbled tongue root cuts, enjoyed with a special ponzu sauce for a light, refreshing taste.

The restaurant has 43 seats in a traditional Japanese-style setting. A grilling station sits in the center, and from the counter seats you can watch the beef tongue being grilled. There are also calm Japanese-style rooms available. It is located Approx. 5 minutes on foot from JR Sendai Station, making it a convenient base for sightseeing as well.
