Aki Shirasu Shokudo Aki Main Store

Located inside Aki Fishing Port in Nishihama, Aki City, Kochi Prefecture, “Aki Shirasu Shokudo Aki Main Store” is a seafood restaurant operated by Aki Suisan. Its signature dish, the “Kamaage Chirimen Rice Bowl,” won the Grand Prix at the 4th National Jako Summit, showing both its high quality and popularity.

What sets this restaurant apart is its use of fresh shirasu and dorome (raw whitebait) caught that very day. Many of the ingredients also come from Aki, including local bounty from the sea, mountains, and rivers. Along with the signature “Kamaage Chirimen Rice Bowl,” the “Dorome Rice Bowl” is also a popular choice. Fresh raw shirasu has a pleasantly springy texture with a slight bitterness. Another appeal is its fresh ocean aroma. Rice bowls are available on their own, as a set, or with sashimi. They are often ordered with bonito sashimi or seared bonito. Other menu items include daily set meals and Jako fried rice.

The restaurant enjoys a location overlooking Tosa Bay. Inside is an open, airy space with 25 seats. It’s a great spot to savor Aki’s fresh local seafood while taking in the view of the sea.
