Chikozan Park
A comprehensive leisure field with a zoo, botanical garden, and even a campground on its vast grounds.
A huge urban park with a total area of 53.8 hectares, created to make the most of Musashino’s rich natural surroundings. Close to the city center, it offers a full leisure field with a zoo, botanical garden, sports facilities, fishing area, campground, and barbecue area.
Seasonal highlights are abundant, including an iris garden where Approx. 2,600 irises bloom in early summer, a cherry grove where Approx. 200 cherry trees surround the pond, and a nature observation garden with wooden boardwalks. In addition to seasonal flowers throughout the year, birdwatching, insect watching, and firefly viewing are also popular. For a more active outing, head to Maeyama Pond for serious herabuna fishing or Wanpaku no Mori, where wooden playground equipment for children is lined up. The reservation-only barbecue area and campground, where overnight stays are also possible, are also recommended for a full outdoor experience.
The park is open 24 hours, but note that individual facilities have their own hours, closed days, and usage fees. Events are also held regularly, so check the official website for details.
