Shin-Shizuoka Cenova
A large shopping complex with excellent access, directly connected to Shin-Shizuoka Station.
A large shopping complex with excellent access, directly connected to Shin-Shizuoka Station on the Shizuoka Railway and within walking distance of JR Shizuoka Station. More than 100 diverse shops, including fashion, lifestyle goods, and gourmet dining, are gathered here. The name “Cenova” was created with several meanings in mind: it evokes the Japanese phrases for “a place of happiness” and “a meeting place,” while also combining CENO (“new” in English) + VA (“go/start” in Spanish), CENTER (“center” in English) + NOVA (“new star” in English / “new, fresh, recent” in Latin), along with the idea of a happy place and meeting place.
With the food court “Cenova Kitchen” and the restaurant zone “Cenova The Dining,” there are plenty of dining options. The 9th floor also features one of the largest cinema complexes in Shizuoka City, with 10 screens, making it a place where visitors of all ages can enjoy their time in their own way.
Since opening in October 2011, the complex has undergone renovations to meet a wide range of needs. In the major 2023 renewal, four shops made their first appearance in Shizuoka Prefecture, including BEAMS GOLF. In 2024, “Cenova Hiroba” also opened on the 5th-floor restaurant level. A variety of limited-time events, including retail sales and exhibitions, are held there.
