Discover everything about timeless pottery born from the land of Iga.

Last update :

A museum where you can learn about the history and production process of Iga ware, which has Approx. 1,200 years of history. On the first floor, traditional works created by local kilns, everyday tableware, and contemporary pieces are displayed and sold. The second floor is a reference room featuring explanatory panels on Iga ware, historical materials, and information about the production process. Masterpieces of Iga ware are also on display so visitors can compare how techniques have changed from past to present.

Pottery workshops are also held regularly (applications are accepted through the email form on the official website), where visitors can try authentic pottery-making with support from professional potters. Workshop options include slab building, wheel throwing (electric and hand-turned), hand-building, and painting. Finished works are dried, glazed, and fired at the kiln that handled the pottery experience, then shipped at a later date.
