Shiramazu Flower Fields

Shiramazu Flower Fields in Chikura Town, Minamiboso City, is not a park-style flower garden created for viewing, but an area along the coast where flower farms growing cut flowers are scattered. From winter to early spring, calendulas, stocks, poppies, snapdragons, canola flowers, and more grown outdoors bloom one after another, covering the whole area in the colors of early spring.

Because the fields are used for production, there are not many spots where you can overlook both the flower fields and the Pacific Ocean. However, along some parts of Route 410, you can enjoy views of the flower fields with the sea in the background, and the flowers swaying in the ocean breeze add a seasonal touch typical of Minamiboso. Each flower farm also offers flower-picking experiences, which is part of the appeal, letting you pick freshly bloomed cut flowers yourself and take them home.

The nearby "Shiramazu Hana no Parking" has a flower market and restrooms, making it a convenient stop during a walk or drive. From January to March, a wide variety of flowers bloom here, and the area, filled with the colors and fragrances of early spring, is also popular as a photography spot. It is a place where you can enjoy scenery unique to the mild climate of Minamiboso.
