Sumaura Park
A signature scenic park in Suma where you can enjoy mountain and sea views at the same time.
A scenic area made up of the Mt. Tekkai and Mt. Hachibuse area overlooking Awaji Island, along with pine groves lining the coast. Making the most of Suma’s terrain, where mountains and sea lie close together, this park is known for letting visitors enjoy both views of Osaka Bay and natural scenery. The grounds are developed along sloping land with changes in elevation, and walking paths and observation spots open onto expansive views.
It is also famous as a cherry blossom spot, with Approx. 3,200 cherry trees, mainly Somei Yoshino, blooming throughout the park in spring. From the walking paths and observation spots, visitors can enjoy Suma’s distinctive scenery, with views of Osaka Bay framed by cherry blossoms, and the blossoms are also illuminated at night.
From inside the park, you can take the Sumaura Ropeway to access Sumaura Sanjo Amusement Park on the summit of Mt. Hachibuse, where you can also enjoy views from the mountaintop.
The park is also part of a hiking course that traverses the Rokko mountain range, and many people visit for walks and photography while enjoying the views in every season.
