Okayama Momotaro Airport
Okayama's gateway to the skies, with easy access from the city.
Okayama's air gateway sits 18 km from central Okayama City, about a 30-minute drive from downtown and Approx. 10 minutes from the nearest interchange. Direct domestic flights operate to three cities, Tokyo, Sapporo, and Okinawa, while direct international flights connect to four cities, Seoul, Shanghai, Taipei, and Kaohsiung. Convenient as a hub for travel within Japan and abroad, it is used by many visitors from both inside and outside Okayama Prefecture.
The Observation Deck on the third floor of the terminal building is a popular viewing space where you can watch planes take off and land up close, making it especially popular with families and those with small children. Kids can enjoy watching the planes together with their parents. However, since there are not that many flights, it's a good idea to check the takeoff and landing times in advance.
The airport also has restaurants, a ramen shop, and cafes where you can enjoy Okayama specialties such as hormone udon and ebi meshi. There are also shops carrying a wide range of Okayama specialties and local products, as well as an airport shop operated by Tenmaya Department Store, which has its main store in Okayama City, making it a convenient place to look for souvenirs.
