Lake Hill Farm
Relax with spectacular scenery and farm-fresh food.
This dairy farm sits on a hill with sweeping views of Lake Toya and Mt. Yotei. At the gelato shop and cafe on the grounds, you can enjoy menu items made with fresh milk from cows grazing freely across the spacious property.
The most popular item, without question, is the homemade gelato, made with the farm’s signature milk and fruits and vegetables grown on its own farm or by nearby farmers. Its natural flavor, with restrained sweetness that brings out the best of the ingredients, carries a gentle hint of milk no matter which flavor you choose. At the cafe, you can enjoy hearty lunch dishes such as the rustic “Mura Ichiban Curry,” packed with chunky vegetables and loved since the cafe opened in 1992, as well as homemade farm sweets like pudding and cream puffs made with plenty of milk.
The “Gelato-Making Experience” and “Butter-Making Experience,” both using fresh milk from the farm, are also popular. One of the best parts is getting to taste what you made right on the spot.
