Opened in 1983, this 25.4-hectare flower park grows more than 6,400 varieties of flowers, plants, and trees.

The park is especially known for its lilies, which inspired its name. In the World Lily Square, Approx. 100 varieties bloom in succession from early summer, filling the grounds with colorful scenery.

Another popular feature is the Lily Train, which lets visitors take a leisurely tour through the park and operates from late April to late October. It runs along an Approx. 1.2 km course in approx. 12 minutes, offering views from the window of flower landscapes that change with the seasons. Muscari and tulips bloom in spring; roses, peonies, lilies, and rose of Sharon from early summer through summer; and cosmos and dahlias in fall, revealing a different view each time you ride.

The Yurigahara Green Center, with three greenhouses in large, medium, and small sizes, is also popular. Its symbol tree, the silver wattle, along with flowering trees native to Australia and camellias that do not grow wild in Hokkaido, add gentle color even during the cold, snowy season.

The Gardens of the World area features a lineup of gardens created with the cooperation of Sapporo’s sister cities, each reflecting the culture of a different country. In addition to the Portland Garden, Münchner Garten, and Shenfang Garden, there is also a Japanese garden, making it a lovely place for an elegant stroll.

The park also includes a playground, a park golf course, and a lawn area. This spot, where you can connect with abundant nature in the city and refresh your mind, is perfect for a relaxing break between sightseeing stops.
