Nagomi no Yado Kakujoro

A historic traditional Japanese ryokan founded in 1926, located in the Fukue area of the Atsumi Peninsula in Aichi Prefecture. The interior, designated as a National Registered Tangible Cultural Property, retains the warmth of wood and the atmosphere of the Taisho and Showa eras, creating a nostalgic space that feels like stepping back in time. Guest rooms are spread across three buildings with different styles, including the main building “Kakujoro,” “Unjoro” with open-air baths, and the maisonette-style “Suijoro,” allowing guests to choose a stay that suits their travel style.

For dining, guests can savor seafood from the Atsumi Peninsula, centered on seasonal local fish landed at Irago Port. The natural tiger pufferfish dishes served in fall and winter are especially well known, earning high praise as an exceptional taste made possible by Irago, one of Japan’s leading fishing areas for this delicacy.

The mildly alkaline Irago Onsen is also known as a “hot spring for beautiful skin,” gently soothing away the fatigue of travel. In the large public bath, guests can bathe while taking in traditional rural scenery of Atsumi below.
