Akariya Geihanro
Luxury in just 10 suites overlooking National Treasure Inuyama Castle.
Established in 1919, this long-standing inn carries on its history while embracing a fresh, contemporary style. Set along the Kiso River in an exceptional location overlooking National Treasure Inuyama Castle, the inn offers just 10 rooms, all of them suites.
Each guest room features a semi-open-air bath supplied with Hakutei-no-Yu, the only natural hot spring in the Inuyama area. Soaking in the gentle water while feeling the breeze across the Kiso River is deeply relaxing. The reservable private bath on the second floor is also popular, offering uninterrupted views of mountain ridges glowing in the sunset and Inuyama Castle illuminated at night.
Dining centers on the bounty of the Owari and Mino regions, complemented by carefully selected ingredients from across Japan. The monthly changing kaiseki menu features delicacies such as wild sweetfish from the Kiso River and specially selected seasonal rice, with each dish showcasing the flavors of the season. Breakfast includes tofu made by an Inuyama artisan, sashimi-style konjac, and an assortment of local specialties served in small portions for a leisurely start to the day.
The inn features a softly lit lounge and a souvenir area displaying carefully selected crafts, creating an atmosphere that is both refined and fitting for a historic property. Seasonal events and scenery are also close at hand, including cormorant fishing and fireworks on the Kiso River in summer, cherry blossoms in spring, and colorful foliage in fall.
Combine your stay with a stroll through the castle town and savor an elegant experience shaped by history, nature, fine cuisine, and hot springs.
