Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Fukuoka
A large-scale commercial complex that opened on April 25, 2022 on the site of a former fruit and vegetable market in Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City. It is the first "LaLaport" in Kyushu and boasts approximately 220 stores, many of which opened for the first time in Kyushu.
That giant Gundam is absolutely stunning! At night, it's all lit up with a sound and light show. If you're a Gundam fan, you have to check this place out.
KURUMIRU Tocho Store
This store has a chic and fashionable exterior that’s black-themed. Here you’ll find unique and individual items, all carefully handcrafted by people with disabilities.
The products sold here are really refined and unique.
Kyobashi Edogrand
Here is a shopping and business facility composed of two modern buildings attached to Meidi-ya Kyobashi, a historical structure seen as the symbol of Kyobashi. This skyscraper is also known for boasting top class earthquake resistance in Japan.
The Chuo City Tourist Information Center is located inside the building, so you can stop by to get info about sightseeing in the area.
Furuya “Gohei-mochi
NHK's television series "Half, Blue” made Gohei-mochi from Ena a well- known specialty food. Gohei-mochi by Furuya is a popular product and a great way to enjoy this local delicacy, long loved in the Higashi-Minoh area of Gifu Prefecture.
I tried the Gohei-mochi at a shop while visiting Takayama Old Town, but honestly, it wasn't for me. Thanks, but I'll pass next time.
Sekai no Yamachan Main Store
The specialty of this restaurant is the "Maboroshi no Tebasaki", which would make you absolutely addicted for its spiciness and flavor of the "Maboroshi no Kosho（Phantom pepper）" and "Hiden no Tare(Secret sauce)".
They've opened a branch in Taiwan, and the taste and texture are exactly the same as in Japan.
Narita Dream Farm
Surrounded by nature, the farm is filled with plenty of activities such as “Animal Petting, Play, Experience, Food, and Shopping.” Many of the highlights involve animal interactions, such as feeding cows, horseback riding, and walking a cute goat on a leash.
This place is perfect for bringing kids. There are small animals and playground equipment for them to enjoy.
Heian Jingu Shrine
Established in 1895 to commemorate the 1100th anniversary of the transfer of the capital to Heian-kyo, this shrine is relatively new. The buildings emulate the central government office, the "Chodo-in," where significant ceremonies took place during the Heian period. Once you step into the precincts, adorned with these vermilion structures, you feel as though you've time-traveled back to the Heian era.
You can freely explore the shrine. The inner garden is definitely worth visiting, but you'll need to buy a separate ticket. The double weeping cherry blossoms are stunning during sakura season.
MITSUI OUTLET PARK KURASHIKI
Located in "Makuhari New City," where commercial facilities, offices, and hotels such as "Makuhari Messe" and "ZOZO Marine Stadium" are situated. This outlet mall is just a 1-minute walk from "Kaihin-Makuhari Station" on the JR Keiyo Line. It originally opened in October 2000 as "Garden Walk Makuhari" and changed its name to "Mitsui Outlet Park Makuhari" in 2008.
This outlet is pretty small. I finished walking around in no time, and there wasn't much to buy. A bit disappointing. 😞
Kabukicho
Kabukicho is the entertainment district that sits just steps from the east exit of Shinjuku Station. It’s a major hub for izakaya pubs, amusement centers and nightlife spots to enjoy after hours. With neon signs lit up through the entire night, it’s earned the nickname of “the city that never sleeps”.
The tour guide said this area is pretty complicated and not very safe, so I just took a quick photo and left.
