The mall has plenty of dining options, from coffee and desserts to wagyu BBQ, so it’s very convenient for meals.
It’s close to the subway and Tokyo Station, so it’s a nice place to take a break, recharge, or just wander around a bit.

Michi-no-Eki Kishu Binchotan Memorial Park

This eclectic roadside stop stays true to strong heat and long-burn local culture of charcoal from its perch in Akitsugawa, the birthplace of Kishu Binchotan charcoal located in Tanabe City, Wakayama. Use this one-stop shop as a café, complete with one-of-a-kind dishes such as Binchotan Ramen and Binchotan Coffee, or head to the all-weather, roofed barbecue area where you can fire up for private charcoal grilling.

They have Binchotan charcoal soft serve here! It tastes a bit like brown sugar, and the added cookie gives it a nice texture. Pretty unique experience.

Aoi Aso Shrine

Look to Hitoyoshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture to find a remarkably ancient shrine founded in the first year of Daido (806). Many locals revere this site as the main guardian over the Hitoyoshi-Kuma region and endearingly refer to it as “Aoi-san". The main hall, corridors, offering hall, worship hall, and gate were constructed between 1610 and 1613 during the Keicho era and keep the esteemed designation of National Treasure. Even in Japan, it’s an architectural rarity for all buildings on the shrine grounds to remain from the same building period.

No entrance fee, so you can visit and pray freely. It's good for a quick stop or a leisurely stroll. There aren't many types of omamori, but they're all pretty well-made—perfect for gifts.

Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine

A shrine famous on social media as a “Spiritual Place” and a “Gateway to another world”. This shrine worships Izanagi-no-Mikoto, Izanami-no-Mikoto, and Iwagimitai-Shogun as its deities. It is known by locals as “Gongen-San”. On the temple grounds, there is the “Nagi” for good luck in marriage and “Ugeto-Iwa” (Ugeto Stone) which is good for passing tests and winning things.

The moment I walked through the torii gate, it really felt like stepping into a mysterious world. The stone lanterns lining the stairs looked just like a scene from a Studio Ghibli movie.

Tama Zoological Park

This zoo, one of the largest in the world exceeding 50 hectares, allows visitors to see about 300 species of animals, from ants to elephants. Located in the Tama Hills, walking around the park gives the feeling of hiking in a nature park.

Compared to traditional zoos, Tama really feels more like a wildlife park. It's perfect for families, and I saw lots of kindergarten kids there on field trips.

Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter

The traditional streets of the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter feature white walled warehouses, grid pattern walls, Namako-kabe, and rows of weeping trees, creating a beautiful and charming townscape. This harmonious and historic scenery is very popular with tourists.

There are lots of unique little shops here, selling local handicrafts, pottery, and traditional sweets. There are also some retro-style cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy great food while soaking in the historic atmosphere. I tried the famous 'Kurashiki grape' dessert, and it was absolutely delicious.

The park isn’t very big, but everything is super cute. Don’t miss the parade at noon! The staff are all really friendly. It’s perfect for Sanrio fans and kids.
