Tsu Station

A major station on the JR Central Kisei Main Line, located in the center of Tsu City, the capital of Mie Prefecture. In addition to JR, it is also a transportation hub served by the Kintetsu Nagoya Line and the Ise Railway Ise Line. With multiple rail lines converging here, it plays an important role in supporting efficient travel within the prefecture and beyond.

It’s not the kind of station that makes you go “wow” the second you arrive, but it has everything you need. The station is clean, and the layout is pretty easy to follow, so transferring trains or heading out isn’t too confusing.

The area around it feels like a typical local city, with restaurants and convenience stores nearby, so it’s fairly convenient for grabbing a meal or waiting for your train. That said, it’s not especially lively, so it’s not really a place you’d want to hang around for long.

Overall, it feels like a low-key, everyday kind of station. If you’re just passing through or transferring, it’s smooth and hassle-free. It probably won’t leave a strong impression, but it gets the job done well.

This resort is huge. The first time you come, the scale really blows you away.

Whether you’re here to ski, hit the amusement park, or stay at the hotel, it’s all one-stop and super convenient.

In winter, the snow quality on the slopes is excellent. Both beginners and advanced skiers can have a good time.
In summer, it turns into full-on amusement park mode with a Ferris wheel, roller coasters, and more. Kids will absolutely go wild here.

There are plenty of dining options, but prices are on the high side—it is a resort after all.

Overall, it’s very comfortable and easy. Perfect for families or anyone who just wants to relax without thinking too much or changing locations all the time.

Mt. Otowa Kiyomizu-dera Temple

Opened in the year 778, the temple was registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site in 1994. In the 130, 000 m2 area of the precincts spread out on the hillside of Mt. Otowa, there are more than 30 cathedrals and monuments, including national treasures and important cultural properties.

There are a lot of tourists, but everything is pretty orderly. For such a popular spot, it actually feels pretty comfortable.

When the weather's nice, the whole park looks like a dream. It totally feels like you're abroad! Even on weekends, it's not too crowded, so you can take your time strolling and snapping photos at your own pace.

If you're a matcha fan, I highly recommend this flavor. There's a slightly bittersweet taste at the end, and that's exactly what I love about it!

KEN’S PASS CO "Andrew's Egg Tart"

Developed by artisan Andrew at "Lord Stow's Bakery" in Macau, it arrived in Osaka around 2000. Featuring a crispy tart crust filled with rich custard cream infused with the flavor of eggs, it quickly became a sensation among Japanese palates. Even today, with six stores primarily in the Kansai region, it has become a staple as a snack at home or as a souvenir.

I was surprised to see rare and endangered animals like polar bears and Asian elephants at Ueno Zoo. My kids absolutely loved it! There's so much fun stuff to see, eat, and do inside!

Sarakurayama Observatory

It's an observatory from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Kitakyushu city area. To reach the observatory at the summit of the 622-meter-high mountain, visitors take a cable car and a slope car.

There are so many little shops around here. You can eat, shop, and stroll around. Shinsaibashi nearby is also super lively.

This shopping street stretches nearly 350m from Harajuku Station to Meiji Street. Many shops carry one-of-a-kind fashion items, and the world pays attention to them as a source of the latest fashion. Everyday, the youth and many shoppers are milling here.
