Tanga Market
Tanga Market, the kitchen of Kitakyushu citizens, is a 10-minute walk from JR Kokura Station. It has a nostalgic atmosphere as if you have time-traveled back to the "Showa" era.
Tanga Market really has that traditional market vibe! Highly recommend checking it out—you can really experience what it's like for locals to shop here. 👍
TENJIN CHIKAGAI
Tenjin area is located in Fukuoka City Chuo-ward, Kyushu’s largest downtown district. Going through the street is Watanabe Street, and to the north, Showa street. To the south is Tenjin Chikagai, an underground street, 600m in length running under Kokutai Street. There are 12 districts, with 150 shops such as apparel, gourmet food, sundries, and books.
I visited Tenjin Chikagai in Fukuoka and after shopping there, I realized Kyushu has such an awesome underground shopping street! All those trendy clothes, stylish bags, and practical shoes totally made me go crazy—I just kept swiping my card and buying stuff! Highly recommend checking this place out!
Kaiseizan Park
Kaiseizan Park, which stretches in front of Koriyama City Hall, is an urban park that can be called a symbol of Koriyama City. The park is centered around Lake Isuzu, which was developed for irrigation, and is well known by citizens as an urban oasis.
Wow, Kaiseizan Park! The cherry blossoms are overflowing along the path, even spilling over the walls... So beautiful! 👍
National Film Archive of Japan
It is the only national film institution in Japan that preserves, researches, and releases films to the public, and as of March 2022, has over 85,000 films in its collection.
I love this place because they have over 85,000 film archives. They also host all kinds of events regularly.
Nihonbashi
Nihonbashi is located in the northern part of Chuo-ku, Tokyo. The name "Nihonbashi" comes from the bridge built across a canal in 1603, and the year Tokugawa Ieyasu established the Edo shogunate.
In this old street where every few steps tells a story, you really get to feel the mix of old and new Tokyo vibes. Nihonbashi 😀
Sugadaira Kogen Snow Resort
Sugadaira Kogen is known as the "Davos of Japan" for its Swiss-like scenery and climate, and is also known for its high-quality powder snow. The resort is called "Sugadaira Kogen Resort" because of the small and medium-sized slopes scattered at the foot of Mt. Neko, and has 3 areas; Pine Beak, Taro, and Davos, with 60 different courses on 11 slopes.
It's called the Davos of Japan and we absolutely love it! This ski resort has a long history and the snow quality is fantastic~ Highly recommended!
The Kyu-Shibuyagawa Yuho-Doro (Cat Street)
A promenade on a back street, one street off the main street, connects Shibuya and Harajuku. Part of the "Kyu-Shibuyagawa Yuho-Doro" starting near the Jingumae police box is known as "Cat Street," where many popular stores, especially among young people, are located. There are various theories about the origin of the street name, such as "because there are many cats" or "because it is as narrow as a cat's forehead” etc...
Cat Street has lots of famous brand shops and trendy stores. It's a super stylish alley where many Japanese young people love to hang out.
Suizenji Jojuen Garden
It is a stroll garden with spring water that Tadatoshi, the first lord of the Hosokawa clan, created after building a teahouse here where subsoil water from the Aso Mountains gushed forth. Tsunatoshi, the third lord of the Hosokawa clan, later created a large-scale garden that was named "Jojuen" after a poem by Tao Yuanming.
I really love the garden at Suizenji! It's so atmospheric~ The shops nearby are also great for browsing. Last time I went, I even tried on a kimono and felt just like a Japanese girl~ hehe
Fukidashi Park (Fukidashi Koen)
Fukidashi Park is a serene spot where rain and snow from Mount Yotei filter through the earth over many years, emerging as a spring of renowned water. This natural bounty, rich in minerals, can be freely drawn from various spring points within the park.
Fukidashi Park at the foot of Mount Yotei is famous for its natural spring water. Every time I visit, I make sure to fill up with plenty of this fresh spring water!
Hanamiyama Park
When the mountain in the country is covered with pale pink gradation, Hanamiyama Park truly looks like a fairyland. Surrounded by the flowery patchwork, soak yourself in a happy dream there.
Wow, the cherry blossom season here is absolutely stunning—so beautiful and breathtaking! Love it!
