There’s so much snow here—it’s that super soft, fluffy powder where even falling doesn’t hurt. And when you ride, your board kicks up this fine mist of snow behind you. So satisfying!
Highly recommend this ski resort. I’ll definitely be back to enjoy Kagura to the fullest!

Mizuki Shigeru Road
Mizuki Shigeru Road was established in 1993. The 800-meter-long street from Sakaiminato Station to the Mizuki Shigeru Museum is lined with 177 bronze yokai sculptures.
Mizuki Shigeru Road at night feels even more ghostly~~~~ The colors are intentionally eerie, but it’s actually a lot of fun!
People who scare easily might really get startled! The creative lighting along the street kept making us smile, and we were constantly wondering what fun thing would appear next. If you happen to be staying near the station, come take a walk at night and experience it for yourself! -

Akiyoshidai, Akiyoshido
Akiyoshidai is Japan’s largest karst plateau spread in the middle of and eastern of Mine city, the central city of Yamaguchi prefecture. A coral reef which was born about three hundred million years ago in the warm sea became limestone while moving on the plate over a huge time, and the limestone accumulated and moved from the sea to the mountain became Akiyoshidai.
The cave adventure at Akiyoshido is a must-do for travelers who love exploring!
On my first visit, I didn’t take the standard route. Instead, we headed underground. My favorite moment was when the guide asked us to turn off all our headlamps so we could experience the pitch-black silence inside the cave. All we could hear was the gentle sound of flowing water, and it really helped us quiet our minds.
Along the way, the guide also taught us how to observe the rocks and stalactites. I had no idea the bronze stone used for Todaiji Temple also came from here!
The whole activity took about two hours. It was physically demanding, and I was drenched in sweat, but seeing the incredibly beautiful blue-green underground lake at the end was the best reward and surprise. Highly recommended!!! -

Naeba Ski Resort
One of the largest ski resorts in Japan, Naeba is known for its dry, high-quality snow. Its wide variety of courses, which have also hosted World Cup races, can be enjoyed by everyone from beginners to advanced skiers. The 4 km downhill course is truly spectacular.
The sunshine on the slopes instantly took me back to our time skiing at Naeba. It was our family’s first time there~
The weather that day couldn’t have been better. Clear blue skies and warm sunshine made the whole resort sparkle, and it put me in such a great mood. The snow quality at Naeba is really nice. Even though the sunny weather made the snow feel a little softer during the day, it was still pretty fluffy and easy to control on the board. It felt super comfortable whether you’re a beginner wanting to practice steadily or an experienced skier just looking for a smooth ride down.
We’ll definitely be coming back next time! -
