The first thing I felt when I arrived at Yokohama Chinatown was—it really has such a strong “Chinese feel”!

As one of Japan’s three major Chinatowns and the largest Chinatown in Japan, it gets packed on holidays, and the whole neighborhood is incredibly lively! With colorful gates, distinctive signs, and the aroma of Chinese food wafting through the streets, you can’t help but switch into “eat as you walk” mode and want to try everything you see.

Besides the food, there are also quite a few fortune-telling shops hidden in the side streets. As you walk around, you suddenly get the urge to think, “Should I get my fortune told today?”
