Whenever I'm browsing around an airport duty-free shop, I can't help grabbing a box of Jaga Pokkuru. The quality of the Hokkaido potatoes is truly excellent. As soon as you tear open the package, the simple, salty aroma of potatoes immediately comes out.
What appeals to me most is that you can always find different limited-edition varieties in different places. On this trip to Okinawa, I specifically looked for a local specialty potato snack to try. Although it was a little different from the classic original flavor, the crispy texture infused with local flavors was just as impressive. I couldn't stop eating them one after another.
These limited-edition surprises that you can buy wherever you travel make souvenir shopping feel a little like collecting. They're great either as a snack during the trip or to bring home and share with friends. Whenever I eat them, I'm reminded of scenes from that trip. It's a simple but delicious snack that I always want to buy again.
