This time, I once again chose to drive to Senagajima. There are quite a few parking spaces along the roads on the island, so it’s very convenient to come by car. Senagajima Sunset Park is right nearby and is an excellent place to watch the sun set.
Unfortunately, the clouds were a little thick that day, so I wasn’t able to see the romantic sight of the sun sinking below the horizon. However, the park thoughtfully provides benches where you can sit leisurely, enjoy the sea breeze, and take a break. The best part was watching planes take off and land one after another at Naha Airport. They were so close that it felt incredibly immersive. The impact was completely different from watching them from the shopping area or a terrace, making it a truly unique experience.
Even though I didn’t get to see the beautiful sunset this time, simply sitting there, watching the planes, zoning out, and enjoying the relaxed pace was still very calming. It’s a great place to slow down and spend some time.
