While shopping near Yokohama Station, I happened to stop by Chuukaichi Ryuuou, located inside the Sotetsu Line station building, for a meal. It seems like a family-style Chinese restaurant with a lot of local character. There isn’t much fancy decor, just a casual, welcoming, everyday dining atmosphere.

This time I ordered fried rice and pan-fried dumplings. An order comes with six dumplings, and the wrappers were nicely browned and fragrant. They tasted pretty good, and together with the fried rice, the meal was very filling.

Overall, the food was decent. Nothing was particularly impressive, but it was simple, tasty, and reasonably priced family-style Chinese food.

If you happen to be near Yokohama Station and don’t want to spend too much time looking for a restaurant, this is a good option for a simple meal. It’s a convenient and affordable everyday restaurant. No need to set your expectations too high—just come for a casual meal!

Located on the 3rd floor, this museum brings visitors into the world of “Soreike! Anpanman” and offers opportunities to meet Anpanman and his friends. Popular characters such as Anpanman and Baikinman appear in stage shows where children can sing and dance along with them.

On this trip to Yokohama, we made a special visit to the Anpanman Children's Museum with the kids! Before we even went inside, we were drawn in by the cute signs outside. The museum is filled with familiar cartoon characters everywhere, and for kids who love Anpanman, it really feels like stepping into a dream world.

I originally thought it was just an exhibition hall, but there was much more to do than I expected! In addition to all the cute character displays, there are plenty of interactive games and hands-on activities. Kids can play to their hearts' content, and before you know it, quite a bit of time has passed.

The stage show was what impressed me the most on this visit, and it's definitely worth seeing! The staff play music and sing while leading the kids through movements and interactive activities. The whole show is full of energy, and they're really good at getting the crowd excited.

Anpanman and other cartoon friends also make surprise appearances. Seeing these familiar characters up close is especially fun and adds plenty of surprises to the visit.

Overall, I think this is a great place to bring young children. It's not just for taking pictures—there are also lots of activities that kids can participate in themselves. No wonder it's such a popular destination for families!

If you're planning a trip to Yokohama, you should really add this place to your itinerary, especially if you have an Anpanman fan in the family. Don't miss it! I recommend reserving an admission time online in advance to make your visit more convenient!

This time we visited the Keikyu Museum, and for kids who love trains, this place is truly irresistible! As soon as you enter, you can see a bright red, full-sized Keikyu train, along with all kinds of model railways, exhibits, and train-driving experiences. The entire space is filled with the charm of railways.

The biggest attraction, of course, is being able to see a real train up close. Through the various interactive facilities, kids can also experience the fun of being little train drivers. No wonder children who love trains have so much fun here that they don't want to leave!

The staff also seemed very friendly. From the way they introduced the facilities and interacted with the children, you could tell that they genuinely love trains and patiently accompany the kids through the experiences.

There are also three experiences that require an additional fee, but they're very popular on weekends and spots are limited. If you want to participate, it's best to check the reservation information in advance, or it can be really difficult to get a spot.

Overall, this is a place where adults can learn about railway culture while children have a great time. If you have a train enthusiast in the family, I highly recommend making time for a visit when you're in Yokohama!

  • Menba Hamatora Yokohama Tsuruyacho Branch

Menba Hamatora Yokohama Tsuruyacho Branch is a 5-minute walk from the West Exit of Yokohama Station. Operated by Noodle Factory, this is the original main branch founded in 2002. In Yokohama, where Iekei ramen is common, it has stayed true to its own style and is loved by both locals and visitors as a well-established part of the community.

When visiting Yokohama, of course I had to plan on having a bowl of popular local ramen! This was my first visit to Menba Hamatora. It’s about a 3-minute walk from Yokohama Station, so it’s very convenient, and it’s also a popular restaurant selected as one of the top 100 ramen shops.

There’s a ticket machine outside, so you need to buy a meal ticket before getting in line. This time I waited about 5 minutes before being seated, which was shorter than I expected. The restaurant has counter seating and regular tables, and the staff seat customers in order, so everything runs very smoothly.

What impressed me most about the ramen was the firm noodles. They had a substantial, chewy texture, and paired with the rich, savory seafood broth, every bite was full of flavor. The layered broth and the texture of the noodles complemented each other perfectly, making it hard to stop eating.

I had only planned to find a ramen shop near Yokohama Station, but unexpectedly ended up at a popular restaurant with a lot of character! If you happen to be near Yokohama Station, consider stopping by and adding another delicious bowl to your Yokohama food trip.
