Futagami Mountain Manyo Line
Mt. Futagami, with an elevation of Approx. 274 meters, stands near the border between Takaoka City and Himi City in Toyama Prefecture. The Futagami Mountain Manyo Line is an Approx. 8-kilometer scenic driving route that runs along the mountain ridge. On clear days, it offers spectacular views of Toyama Bay and the Noto Peninsula on one side, and the Tateyama Mountain Range on the other. From the observation deck near the summit, you can take in a panoramic view of Takaoka City.
In the context of a relaxing trip, this route feels super slow-paced in the best way. The views along the way are all mountains and small towns, and it’s really nice to just sit there and zone out looking out the window.
From that perspective, it’s a great pick in either cherry blossom season or fall foliage season. When the weather is nice, the scenery is genuinely beautiful. -
Owakudani
After changing from the cable car to the ropeway at Hayamiyama Station on the main route of the Hakone tour, While enjoying an aerial walk for a while the scenery suddenly changes.
There's a visitor center where you can take a break, plus restrooms and a souvenir shop. Super convenient.

Narai-juku
It is Japan's longest post town, stretching about 1 km along the old Nakasendo Route. Located at the highest elevation among the 11 inns on the Kisoji Route, which is known for its perilous passes, the town used to be so crowded with travelers that it was called "Narai Senken (Narai of One Thousand Buildings)”.
The old-fashioned streets are really beautiful.
