Hamamatsu Festival Hall
A facility where you can experience the lively atmosphere of the Hamamatsu Festival. Held every year from May 3 to May 5, the Hamamatsu Festival is one of Japan’s leading festivals, drawing more than 1 million visitors. It features thrilling giant kite battles at Nakatajima Sand Dunes during the day and magnificent palace float parades through the city at night, along with a variety of events such as traditional performing arts, marching band parades, and the Miss Hamamatsu Festival contest.
This place mainly introduces the Hamamatsu Festival. Inside, there are lots of huge kites and festival decorations on display, and it feels impressive as soon as you walk in.
The space isn’t very large, but it’s a good way to quickly understand what makes the Hamamatsu Festival so exciting. There aren’t many interactive experiences, so it’s more of a static exhibit. Still, it’s easy to walk through and doesn’t take much time, making it a nice stop if you’re nearby. -
Omoide Yokocho
Walk just 2 minutes from the West Exit of Shinjuku Station to find yourself at a retro pub alley. With ticket shops and around 80 different establishments offering delicious food and drinks, it's a great place to enjoy the local cuisine and atmosphere.
If you want to experience how locals eat and drink in their daily lives, this is definitely the place to go!
