Kamotsuru Sake Brewing’s “Daiginjo Tokusei Gold Kamotsuru”

This signature sake from a long-established brewery founded in 1873 represents Saijo, Hiroshima, one of Japan’s leading sake-brewing regions. Released in 1958, it pioneered the sale of daiginjo sake to the general public in Japan. It remains a long-selling product and a symbol of Kamotsuru Sake Brewing.

This daiginjo sake is made with carefully selected sake rice from Hiroshima Prefecture, meticulously polished and brewed with underground water. It features an elegant aroma and rich flavor. When poured into a glass, delicate cherry blossom petal-shaped pieces of pure gold leaf float in the sake, giving it a luxurious appearance. Its bright, full-bodied daiginjo character and refined presentation make it ideal for celebrations and gifts. Despite its vibrant flavor, it has a clean finish and pairs well with food.

It drew further attention in 2014 when it was served at a dinner attended by then-U.S. President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Images of Prime Minister Abe holding the bottle generated considerable interest.
