I decided to have lunch at “PUBLIC KITCHEN café Minamisenba Store,” a cute popular café in Osaka.
Here you can enjoy healthy dishes made with organic vegetables from “PUBLIC KITCHEN organic farm,” a plantation in Hyogo Prefecture’s Tamba City.

The café is located about 2-3 minutes on foot from both “Shinsaibashi Station” and “Yotsubashi Station.”
It’s a very popular location, so around noon there’s almost always a line of customers waiting for a seat.

All vegetables used here are organic, grown with no pesticides and no chemical fertilizers.

This time, I decided to take a seat at a table on the 2nd floor.

They offer a set menu called “Obon Gohan” all day long.
This menu features around 20 different dishes, all of which come with brown rice made with organic vegetables, 3 side dishes, miso soup, and an organic vegetable salad.

The daily meal on the “Obon Gohan” menu today was their “Miso Stir-Fried Pork Belly and Organic Vegetables.”
I saw it and I had to get it!

Daily Harvest Meal – 880 yen

Today, their special was miso stir-fried pork belly and organic vegetables.
I ordered a smaller portion of rice today, but you can get a larger serving or another helping for no extra charge.
On weekends, holidays, and at dinnertime, it costs an extra 100 yen.

The dish was packed with plenty of beautifully colorful organic vegetables, including an okra croquette fried in olive oil, daikon raddish, eggplant, potatoes, carrot, and kabocha squash.
What a healthy lunch.

The pork belly was tucked away under all of the seasonal vegetables.

The miso sauce had a lovely flavor with notes of richness, umami, and sweetness, making for a delicious match for the pork belly! It was super delicious!

I ordered a smaller portion of rice this time.

The brown rice was cooked to a pleasant doneness. The unique chewy texture of the brown rice was accented with the individual texture of the grains, leading to a very enjoyable experience.

I also tried the pork belly and brown rice together. Wow! It was so good.

The vegetables were fresh and crisp. They were very refreshing; yum!

The miso they used was delicious, and drinking the soup just makes you feel good.

The freeze-dried tofu was packed with delicious dashi, making it somewhat salty.
I personally prefer a slightly sweeter flavor.

The dried daikon strips had a lovely dashi flavor to them, and the texture was also top-notch.

I got to enjoy the flavors of carefully grown vegetables from Tamba City, a place filled with natural beauty.
I had plenty of different vegetables, could expect them to help detox my body, and had a delicious and healthy meal. I left full and completely satisfied!
