One of the largest aquariums in the Tohoku region, located near Sendai Port. It opened in 2015 as an “aquarium symbolizing recovery.”

A waterfall located in the upper reaches of the Natori River, which flows through Sendai and Natori in Miyagi Prefecture into the Pacific Ocean. With a width of 6 m and a drop of 55 m, it is a spectacular waterfall selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls.
The powerful sight of the water cascading down with a roaring sound is breathtaking, and it has also been designated a National Place of Scenic Beauty.

Entsuin Temple was built in 1647 as the family temple of Mitsumune Date, grandson of Date Masamune.
Entsuin is known as a famous spot for autumn leaves, with the best viewing season from late October to mid-November.
Among its highlights is the garden centered around the Shinji Pond, created Approx. 350 years ago, and Mount Fudaraku, where Kannon Bosatsu is said to reside. It is considered one of the most beautiful gardens in Tohoku. The nighttime illumination adds an even more magical atmosphere.

The distillery is located in the mountains near the border with Yamagata Prefecture, surrounded by the Nikkawa and Hirose rivers.

The only national government park in the Tohoku region, located beside Lake Kamafusa at the foot of the majestic Zao Mountains. The park is divided into three areas.
The “North Area” is where you can fully enjoy the outdoors, with a campground, dog run, and grassy open spaces perfect for picnics, all surrounded by great nature.
Between the “South Area” and the “North Area” is the “Satoyama Area,” which features exhibition rooms introducing satoyama nature and culture, as well as craft rooms for activities such as woodcraft.

Sendai Castle was built under the orders of Lord Date Masamune. Also known as “Aoba Castle,” it served as the center of domain government for 270 years.
After the Meiji era, however, the site was used by the army, and many buildings were dismantled. Most of the remaining structures, including the Otemon Gate, were also destroyed in the Sendai Air Raid.
Today, the area has been developed as a park, where visitors can see the stone walls, the reconstructed Otemon Gate side turret, and the earthen wall north of the Otemon Gate.

Yagiyama Zoological Park Fujisaki no Mori is one of the largest zoos in the Tohoku region, housing Approx. 600 animals of 115 species, including endangered species.

Yamagata was a major production area, and trade carrying it to Edo and Kamigata generated wealth. In the center of town, streets lined with stately shops paired with gates still remain, conveying the prosperity of those days.
Because of its refined townscape, it is also called the “Little Kyoto of Michinoku,” and in 2014 it became the first district in Miyagi Prefecture to be designated an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings.

An interactive museum featuring works themed around the “senses.” Packed with exhibits that stimulate sight, hearing, smell, and touch, it allows visitors to enjoy the works through their own sensibilities.
The exhibits are divided into three zones: the Dialogue Zone, the Monologue Zone, and the Traverse Zone connecting the two spaces, with works displayed according to each theme. In addition to the permanent exhibition, reservation-only workshops are held from time to time.

Zao Echo Line is a mountain road crossing the Zao mountain range from east to west. It opened in November 1962 as a road connecting Zao Town in Miyagi Prefecture and Kaminoyama City in Yamagata Prefecture.
The road stretches for Approx. 26 km and welcomes visitors with seasonal scenery as a sightseeing route.
In spring, you can enjoy corridors of snow, in summer refreshing greenery, and in autumn vivid red and yellow foliage. The fall foliage season is especially popular.

Yakurai Garden is located at the foot of Mount Yakurai. This leisure spot features 400 varieties of plants across a vast site and is made up of eight themed gardens, including the “Rose Garden,” “Herb Garden,” and “Fururu Hill.”
From spring to fall, colorful flowers bloom with each season, and Halloween events are also held in autumn.
