Entsuin Temple was built in 1647 as a family temple for Date Mitsumune, Date Masamune's grandson. Entsuin Temple is known for its beautiful autumn foliage, which is at its best from late October to mid-November. The garden, which was created around 350 years ago, is one of the most beautiful in the Tohoku region, centered on Shinji Pond and Mt. Potalaka, where Kannon Bosatsu (Goddess of Mercy) resided. At night, the garden is illuminated to create a more fantastic atmosphere. The workshop where visitors can make their own prayer beads out of natural stones and glass beads is also popular.

The "Enmusubi Kannon," which stands on the left side of the temple gate, is believed to be a matchmaker for love, education, employment, and other relationships. Kannon's statue is surrounded by kokeshi dolls on which visitors have written their wishes for the fulfillment of good relationships.

Mitsumune's mausoleum, Sankeiden, is located in the back of the main hall and is one of the Date family's most technologically advanced buildings. It was designated as a national important cultural property in 1985. The mausoleum's palace-style miniature shrine is decorated with paintings of roses said to have been brought back from the West.
