HAKONE BOTANICAL GARDEN OF WETLANDS
The botanical garden with approximately 1700 kinds of rare flowers, mainly plants growing in marshes and wetlands.

It is a botanical garden neighboring the Sengokuhara Marsh, which is also designated as a national natural monument. Having restored the wetland environment, it is attractive to observe flowers in an almost native condition. You will see about 1700 species of plants, mainly species in wetlands such as marshes, rivers, and lakes as well as grasslands, forests, alpine plants, including rare foreign mountain grasses. In the Garden, a boardwalk is laid from lowland to highland and low to high marshes.
Seasonal exhibitions are held with photos, panels, and large aquariums on animals and plants of the Sengokuhara Marsh. Also, events such as guided walks are available. It is nice to listen to detailed explanations from the guide while actually seeing the plants in the garden. (The Guided walk is currently suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The information is as of July 2021)
