Higashiyama Sky Tower
Look over Nagoya City and distant mountains. The night cityscape is romantic!
The observation tower in the Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens, built in 1989 to commemorate the 100th year of Nagoya City.
The tower is 134m (440 ft)-tall, but it stands on 80m (262 ft)-hill, which makes it 214m (702 ft) above sea level in all. The observation room is 100m above ground (180m above sea level). You can see JR Central Towers, Chubu Electric Mirai Tower (Nagoya TV tower), Vantelin Dome Nagoya (Nagoya Dome), etc. in the city and even Mt. Ontake and Suzuka Mountains on clear days.
Since there is no highrise nearby, Beautiful night scenery is available. It was selected as Japan’s Night View Heritage Site and one of the 100 Best Night Views.
On the top floor, a restaurant offers a breathtaking view. The fresh pasta and the homemade pizza with low-temperature-rise and high-heat-baked crust are especially famous. At night, enjoy the city lights and a full-course Italian/French dinner. They have a cafe time for your quick break.
(The restaurant is closed for a while as of November 2021)
The observation room gives a sweeping view over Nagoya City.
Selected as Japan’s Night View Heritage Site and one of the 100 Best Night Views.
The observation room was selected as Lover’s Sanctuary and has the Compass of Love.
